St. Petersburg, Russia

We then sailed to St. Petersburg, Russia where we spent three days. Our ship is small so it was able to dock in the Neva River next to the first bridge thus avoiding the larger cruise ship terminal some miles from town. We spent three whirlwind days visiting museums, castles, churches/museums, and gardens. On our last day we visited a shopping district where we were able to wander for a few hours without being teathered to a guide. We chose to not visit stores but instead visited some of the local parks and simply wandered up and down the streets until we had to return to the bus. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city. It only dates to the early 1700s. It's a much younger city than I knew before this trip. It is a must see when you can.
