Esperance, Albany & Busselton - February 16-18

At Esperance, we boarded a bus and embarked in a journey to Cape Le Grand National Park. It’s a beautiful place where land and sea meet at beaches and rock formations. There were signs that warned us to not feed the kangaroos. But we did not see any that day. Turns out they usually show up on the beach for a morning or evening swim during the cooler periods of the day. But humans could drive their cars on the beach enabling them to reach the furthest points. In Albany, we toured two small wineries with a small group of guests. Both were family run businesses and produced some tasty wines. Clearly the proprietors are very proud of their products. At the second winery we were treated to finger foods to accompany the wines. Most of the food was produced right their in their farm. Our time in Busselton was spend at two mostly natural settings. The first was Cape Naturaliste and the lighthouse. The second stop was at a place called Canal Rocks. The day we visited the sea was mostly calm. But our guide told us on stormy days it becomes very magical with the crashing of waves over the rocks.
