Linda and I ventured on a two week trip that took us to Iceland via Amsterdam, the Shetland Islands, and the Faroe Islands. We left Columbus on Sunday, June 25, 2023 and flew to Amsterdam via Toronto on an uneventful flight. After two days in Amsterdam we boarded the ship the Azamara Journey which departed on June 28. We arrived in the Shetland Islands after one day at sea. From there we sailed to the Faroe Islands. Then we spent one full day at sea before arriving at Seyðisfjörður for our first day in Iceland. We visited 4 other ports, Húsavík, Akureyri, Sauðárkróksbakarí, and Ísafjörður before arriving at our final stop in Reykjavik. We spent two days (one more than planned) in the city of Reykjavik before heading home on July 11, 2023.

The extra day came about because Air Canada cancelled our planned flight on Monday, July 10. They rebooked us on Delta flights a day later. Lucky for us we were still at our hotel and they allowed us to stay an extra night. The other exciting event was a 5.2 earthquake on the night of July 9. Our hotel room rumbled, shook, and the bed nearly walked across the floor. The next day a new volcano opened up and lava flowed out.

The images are broken up into 4 parts. Come along as we explore Amsterdam in part 1. Part 2 contains images from the Shetland Islands and the Faroe Islands. Part 3 are the 5 ports we stopped at around Iceland. The final part are images from in and around Reykjavik.

I sure hope you enjoy these images. I had a blast making them and totally enjoyed every part of this trip. Sit back and pretend you were at my side when I made the images.
